Tribute To The American Military

America has a great military force to which we would like to pay tribute today but before we get into that we must remember that “America is great because she is ‘good’ but when she ceases to be ‘good’ she will ceases to be great.” Though I do not recall the author of this statement, no truer words have ever been spoken by mere mortal man but sadly, today, America stands on the threshold of insignificance as our greatness as a nation begins to fade rapidly into the pages of history even though we possess the perhaps the greatest military ever. As great and powerful our military is “it does not a nation make”. This free society of ours cannot long exist when she turns her back upon Almighty God and we were strongly warned of this by our founding fathers, but today America is denying this Christian Heritage upon which this nation was founded and made great. The revisionist are making every attempt to deny the role of a Supreme Maker as this nation was raised up out of the dust of the tyrannical government(s) from Europe. As a result the “goodness” which has long shielded this nation is evaporating like the due in the early morning sunlight and a darkness is gradually creeping across America thanks to the national news media, the political ineptness and greed which has invaded the leadership of this nation, the U.S. Supreme Court for their failure to rigidly uphold the Constitution to which they are sworn to protect, the churches of America for their failure to stand firm on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the godless national educational system which has just about eradicated every vestige of Christianity this nation has long cherished and lastly but most importantly, the ingredient which binds all of the above together into one big cohesive unit, “We The People”! We the people stand guilty for our failure to keep Jesus Christ at the center of our being which could have protected us from all of the above. No nation can long stand without this ingredient because it will lead to greed, our greed will lead to corruption and corruption will lead to the down fall of our once beloved nation. This greed has proven to be the destructive link which will bring this nation to its knees either in repentance or destruction.

One can scream and yell until “the pigs come home” as we use to say in south Alabama in protest about what I am saying, but once Almighty God lifts his protective hand from this nation there is no power upon this earth that can or will change our destiny. I fear that if Almighty God has not already lifted His protective hand from upon America He is about to do so and I think we have had it! Oh! we will continue on for many more years perhaps but with every passing day we will find that proverbial noose tightening as we slowly but surely slide into obscurity. Although, it could come upon us suddenly with a “bang” leaving us to wonder, “ What happened?” When that point in time comes only those who will have placed their trust in Jesus Christ will be victorious but what a victory that will be and to those of you who do not believe, rest assured that your unbelief will not change one thing, for God’s plan will move forward no matter what!

There are so many places one could begin to point out the specifics of that about which I speak, therefore, I will be writing a series of articles outlining a few of them but it would take volumes to cover all of the specifics about that of which I speak. In this particular series I would like to begin with an article in support of our troops as I attempt to illustrate how our political leaders, the national news media as well as other institutions have played havoc with our military.

In the first place the American Military is perhaps the best which has ever existed as they have been called upon to support the freedoms this nation and the world have long enjoyed, but there is no military, nor has there ever been a military which can stand when Almighty God lifts His guiding hand and that is going to happen to America without a major intervention of Almighty God in America. Such an intervention can only happen when America turns back to God in repentence. Of course our military is not without mistakes but for well over two hundred years they have, with the blessing of Almighty God , fought brilliantly against all odds to protect this nation and other freedom loving nations around the world from the tyrannical assault of all who would destroy our freedoms. Today, however, they are facing a totally different enemy and a part of that enemy force is to be found within our own borders, in Washington, in strategic positions throughout this nation and the world and, in fact, sprinkled throughout our society even, in some instances in the church. They are to be found throughout our towns and cities as our very own citizens, led blindly by the national media, are turning against them. Such a divided nation cannot forever stand and this mighty military force, who has long protected this nation, may very well be facing the very same demise as our nation as this nation continues its march in the very face of Almighty God.

Even today our military is under the assault of a sinister political force within our very own borders as these men and women stand in the halls of Congress, in the United States Senate and other branches of our government or related institutions and, in essence, calls for our defeat in places such as Iraq and Afghanistan only they call it a “ re-distribution of our troops” lest the people rise up against them. This very same military is likewise under assault from the national News Media when they refuse to print the truth and, in some instances, actually put out false information in an attempt to turn the American voter against the war effort facing America after America made a commitment to put an end to the tyrannical reign of some of these evil regimes. Once this nation commits to a course of action it is time for everyone to pull together, but sadly many of those who voted to support this war effort initially, ran for cover the minute our military encountered a little opposition and the platitudes began to be unfurled. It has been said that had we had the same media and the same legislative delegations during World War II that we have today America would have lost that war. I personally do not doubt that for a minute.

My favorite platitude which most of these anti-military activists started coming out with (seemingly on queue) went something like this, “I do not support the war but I support our troops.” Again I will ask a question which I have asked before, “Who do these ‘turkeys’ think we are” to expect us to fall for such double talk. I submit to you that there is no way one can support the troops without supporting the cause(s) for which they are literally giving their lives. Then to top that off they start “whining” about someone daring to call them un-patriotic. You will hear statements like “How dare you question my patriotism” when they sanctimoniously attempt to defend their ill conceived platitudes and they become all incensed about the matter.

Then comes the “ Calvary”, (America’s infamous, left leaning media) riding hard to their rescue with their headlines blazing and their banners waving, for they cannot believe someone would dare say that about these patriotic, anti-military people and they spend the next few weeks or months in an attempt to destroy anyone who would dare to raise a voice in opposition because they had guts enough to call someone’s hand on such matters and so it goes. This kind of thing drives me up the proverbial wall and I can only shake my head in disbelief. We actually have a few of these types of people running for the Presidency of this nation and many more standing in the halls of Congress and in the U. S. Senate cheering them on without regard to what harm they are causing for America and sadly millions of Americans are running over their shadows to support them. Give me a break! They soon forget that only a few short years or perhaps months ago they stood applauding our President and our Armed Forces when they first took these world bullies on and as soon as the going got a little tough they all ran for cover and turned their backs on America! I say thank God for America, for our President and most of all for our Military. They have done their jobs well and deserve America’s applause. Perhaps we should no longer ask God for His blessings upon America, rather we should ask for his forgiveness. It is time for the people to stop standing for America, rather it is time for the people to go to their knees on behalf of America. We must remember the scripture taken from II Chronicles 7;14: or Isaiah 63:10.

“…14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. ..” II Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)

“…10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them…” Isaiah 63:10 (KJV)

So, you see, that there are limits beyond which Almighty God will not go and I fear that America is pushing God to His limit. Indeed He will ultimately draw a line in the sand, call His people out and give the rest over to their desires. Since a nation cannot be held accountable for its sin as people will be held accountable for their sins individually, He will bring the nations to naught while holding individuals responsible for their ever action!

What, then, will happen to the mighty military force in America. It is true that the American Military is perhaps the greatest to ever exist but we must remember that it is the product of America, one of the greatest nations ever to exist and as America goes into decline so goes the military.
