Meet The Pastor

De 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one!”

Hi,

I would like to take the time to introduce my self to you. My name is Dennis Heater and my wife’s name is Hazel Heater. My wife and I come from and Evangelical background. From the year 2002 -2006 we served our Church in the field of Pastoral Ministries. We were in charge of hospital visitation, home visitation, and nursing home visitation. We were in charge of our intercessory prayer at the church. In the year of 2006 because of my wife’s health issue, my mother-in-law health problems, and knowing in the month of December of the year 2006 that we would become grandparents of twins. I decided to step down from ministry and minister to my own family. In time my wife’s health issues were healed, my mother-in-law is doing better, and the twins are healthy. In that time frame God has released us from our home Church. Thus, we have been attending a church where we have been able to become renewed and refreshed. We believe that God is calling us back into ministry. We had the pleasure of meeting Bobby Murphy in Wal Mart and he asked Hazel and I if we would like to come on board and help with the Pastoral Care side of this ministry. We prayed about it, God said yes and here we are. So lets get to it,

I want to ask you something. How many of you would like to walk in God’s blessings?

Lets look at Psalm 1:1-6

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. 4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. 6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

NIV

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. I want to take the time to encourage you to find other, Christians, fellow believers to fellowship and to hang out with. If you need advice or counseling I would advise you to seek out those that you know who know how to pray and walk in Godly wisdom. I am not saying that you should forsake your friends who are non Christian but there are some things that you know that you can do and there are some things that you know that you cannot do. But, you are the one who needs to protect your self, your Christian walk, and the ministries that God is calling you into. If you are in doubt about what you can do with your non Christian friends pray and ask the Holy Spirit to show you and to convict you. If you are doing anything wrong or your going to places that you shouldn't the Holy Spirit will show you. Remember you are called to be a witness to the loving and saving grace of Jesus Christ.

We are not to stand in the way of sinners or another words we are not to do or to go where sinners go. We are to walk a life of Holiness or we are to try to walk a life that is Holy. There will be times that we fall down or we miss the mark but remember that we have a Lord and Savior who loves us. Therefore, get up dust the dirt off your knees, repent, and move on.

We are not to set in the seat of the mockers. In your Christian walk you are going to come across people who are not going to like what you stand for or accept what you believe in. The reason why is because Satan didn't like Jesus when he was born and he really didn't like it when Christ died for your sins and mine. You are going to find resistance in your life because of being a Christian but you will also find people who will be open about your witness of Jesus Christ and what he has done for you But you will have people who will mock you and who will mock what Jesus stood and died for. Remember they didn't like Jesus in his time and why should they start now. Jesus defeated Satan through His death and through His resurrection. Jesus went to hell for three days and came back. He reclaimed the keys and gave them to us. Therefor we can walk in victory. Hallelujah We can give a shout of victory. There are Christians through out the world who are being persecuted for accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and it will be a matter of time that Christians who live in the USA will too.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. You and I must call the word of the God a delight, because it gives an insight or away to walk that is pleasing unto God. You and I must study the word of God and allow it to have its place in our heart. By meditating on Gods' word we allow it to be planted in our heart. Therefore the word of God can take its place and grow, thus changing us daily. To meditate is one way a saying to ponder or to think about. Thus, we have communion with God and if we dare we have a conversation with Him. We might even dare to ask Him what do you mean by this piece of scripture and get ready for He will show you.

He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. These are the benefits that you and I walk in because we seek Godly counsel. We study and conduct our life by His word. We pray and have communion with God the Father, Jesus our Lord and the Holy Spirit. You and I will be like a tree that is planted by streams of water. I want you to look at the word streams. As you can see, it is just not one stream but multiple streams, thus we never thirst or go with out water. Water can mean a time of refreshing. Refreshing can come through studying God's word and through prayer. It can also come by taking the time to worship and to praise our Lord through music and singing. To yield fruit can mean that we grow in the gifting of the Holy Spirit, the Fruits of the Spirit, and the talent that God has placed in you and I. Our leaf doesn't wither means that we will not die Spiritually. That we just keep on growing and changing by and through His word. Because we seek Godly counsel, the Holy Spirit is able to show the traps and snares of the devil. To prosper doesn't just mean in our finances, but in our health, having a sound mind, in our calling, and in our spiritual walk. There is no limitation of walking in prosperity or blessings.

Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. I need not say anymore about the wicked. I not saying that we should not be praying for the unsaved, but we need to have a burden for the lost, for family members who are unsaved, for friends you don't know Christ and for those who have known Christ and have lost their way. Chaff is the after mass of what is left of the wheat. Chaff has no value, no purpose it is the waste by product of wheat. The wind blows and the chaff is tossed about. It goes where the wind takes it. The wicked are tossed about by their flesh. They have no direction or purpose for their life. They are blown about where Satan wants to take them. John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. NIV Satan wants to kill and take everyone that he can to hell.

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. It is pretty plain what is being expressed right here. There are no sinners in heaven. The only people in heaven will be those who except Christ as their Lord and Savior.

For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. The Lord is watching over those who are in right standing with him. The reason that we are in right standing with Him is not because of our good works or that we are good people but because Jesus died for our sins. We have accepted and acknowledge that we are sinners. We confess that we need a Lord and Savior. We have repented of our sins and asked Him to come into our life. We make Him our Lord and Savior. The way of the wicked is death and Hell.

If you don't know Jesus or if you don't know if you are saved, please lets take the time to solve this situation. Just repeat this prayer and repent for your sins. To repent means to turn away from or make a 180 degree change in your life style. Let us pray. Dear Jesus I know that I am a sinner and I ask that you forgive me of my sins. I repent for my wrong doings and I ask you to come into my life and into my heart. I make you Lord of my life. I thank you that you are my Lord and Savior. I thank you for dieing for me. If you prayed this prayer you now need to tell someone that you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior. If you live in a third world country and this may cause you harm tell it to another Christian whom you can trust and rejoice with you.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you and give you peace. Amen and Amen

Dennis
